Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, general secretary of the union, insurance banks and financial institutions of Beja Mohamed Ben Aich addressed the two days bank strike.
Ben Aich announced the banks and insurance companies are starting a two-day strike following the collapse of discussions between the General Federation of Banks and the professional banking association. Communicating his support for all professionals in the sector, the official stated that the strike was organized in objection to precarious work.
Qualifying the demands of the sector as legitimate, Ben Aich criticised the working conditions in banks and insurance companies. He, therefore, reported that agents working in banks and insurance companies have secured the continuation of the activity of the sector in question in the midst of the pandemic.
The official further announced that the General Federation of Banks did not provide vital importance to the file in question demanding, at the same time, the amendment of the collective agreement of the banking sector which has been in place for 30 years.
