Customs services in Chbika in the governorate of Tozeur today thwarted an attempt to smuggle currency worth a total of 2.8 million dinars.
Tunisian Customs stated on Wednesday that these sums were seized as part of the battle against foreign exchange crimes and the smuggling of funds across the border.
The same source added that these amounts were seized after the pursuit of a motorist who tossed a bag containing 844,610 euros and escaped.
